Do I need experience to come fishing on Tuskar 3?

Not at all. A large proportion of our customers are complete beginners or only fish a couple of times a year. The skipper will walk you through everything — rigging, casting, playing fish and unhooking — and we'll happily focus the day around getting you confident and catching.

Is fishing equipment included in the price?

Yes. Every charter includes quality rods, reels and terminal tackle suited to the trip, plus all the bait, lures and rigs we'll need. If you'd rather bring your own gear you're more than welcome — just give us a heads-up so we can plan the day accordingly.

Question 3

What should I bring with me?

Warm, layered clothing with a proper waterproof outer (top and bottom — it can be wet on deck), non-slip closed-toe footwear, a packed lunch, snacks and drinks, sunglasses and sun cream, and a camera for the catch shots. If you're prone to motion sickness, take a tablet roughly an hour before we sail.

Where do the trips depart from?

All charters depart from Cardiff Marina on the south Wales coast — a short hop down the M4 from Newport, Bristol or the Valleys. We'll send the exact pontoon and meeting instructions the day before, with parking and onward directions — and we'll be standing by ready to load.

What happens if the weather prevents us from sailing?

Accepted Answer

Safety always comes first. If the forecast or sea state means we can't sail, the skipper will let you know as early as possible. We'll offer you a free reschedule to another date that suits you, or a full refund — no quibbles, no admin fees.

Question 6

Can children come along?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — children from around 10 years old are welcome on most trips, and family-friendly reef trips are particularly popular. Lifejackets are provided in all sizes and the skipper is brilliant with younger anglers. Get in touch before booking so we can recommend the right charter for your party.

How do I book and pay?

Send us an enquiry through the booking form, by phone or by email with your preferred dates and party size. We'll confirm availability and send you a quote. A deposit secures the booking; the balance is settled before sailing.

Is Tuskar 3 fully insured and licensed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The boat is fully MCA Coded for commercial passenger operations, carrying all required safety equipment, and we hold full public liability insurance. Safety briefings and lifejackets are part of every trip.
